Safeguarding of Merchant Funds

As an Authorised Payment Institution, GlobePay is required by the FCA to safeguard funds received from merchants and their customers. This means your money is protected separately from GlobePay’s own business funds at all times.

How We Safeguard Your Funds

When GlobePay receives funds on your behalf, we immediately place them into a dedicated safeguarding account held with an authorised credit institution. These funds are:

  • Kept separate from GlobePay’s own corporate funds
  • Ring-fenced — they cannot be used for GlobePay’s operational expenses
  • Protected in the event of GlobePay’s insolvency

Important Notice: FSCS

GlobePay is not covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

The FSCS protects deposits held with banks and building societies — this does not apply to funds held by payment institutions such as GlobePay. Your funds are instead protected through the FCA’s safeguarding requirements as described above.
